Technology & AI Engineering Leader

Mark
Fullbrook

Hands-on technology leader with deep Generative AI expertise and more than 20 years’ experience building software products, modernising platforms and leading global engineering teams. At Citi, I built and scaled a global Generative AI engineering capability from one to more than 20 people and led multiple AI products from concept to production in a highly regulated environment. Previously, as a director of a 65-person manufacturing and export business, I led technology transformation alongside responsibilities spanning finance, operations, legal and people. A lifelong builder and relentless tinkerer, I combine strategic and commercial judgement with the technical depth to challenge assumptions and stay close to architecture and delivery.

Beyond the job title

01

How I lead

I lead by making the business outcome and constraints clear, building multidisciplinary teams around the problem and giving capable people real ownership. I stay close enough to the work to challenge assumptions, unblock difficult problems and understand the consequences of our decisions, but I do not want every decision to pass through me. I set high standards for engineering and delivery while encouraging honest disagreement, shared learning and professional growth. I favour small releases, short feedback loops and evidence from users and production over long programmes built on untested assumptions.

02

Outside work

Family comes first - supporting my kids at their sports, a home cooked meal and a good film. I'm a huge F1 fan, and I keep fit on my Brompton into London and my mountain bike in the local forests. My wife and I share a love of travel, and we always have at least one big adventure planned.

03

Independent projects

Outside my primary role, I continue to build and operate independent software projects. This keeps me close to modern development practices and gives me first-hand experience of product decisions, infrastructure, operating costs and turning an idea into a usable service.
